Lost Hearts

“Are you sure this is the place Freddy?”

“Positive. Look, there on that shelf, that’s where she puts the hearts.”

“It’s horrible. Why does she do it?”

“She’s just mean that’s why. One of those kids who gets pleasure out of removing our hearts and leaving us to fade away. You only need to look round her playroom to see that.”

“So, you reckon Matilda’s heart’s in there?”

“Must be mate. All we’ve got to do is work out which one belongs to our Matilda.”

“What if we get the wrong one Freddy?”

“Let’s not go there. Just start looking.”
