“Please help me! He’s out there again.”

“It’s Mrs. Jenkins, isn’t it? You phoned yesterday and the day before and the day before that?”

“Yes … but this time I know it’s him.”

“Have you actually seen him Mrs. Jenkins? Has he spoken to you? Threatened you?”

“No, but …”

“In that case madam, I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do. I’ll get the local bobby to pop by tomorrow.”

“But …”

As the line went dead Margaret Jenkins heard his voice.

“Hello Maggie. Let myself in, didn’t think you’d mind. You’ve taken some finding my dear. Not to worry, I’m here now.”
