What About The Children?

What About The Children?

It was Jimmy’s idea.

We’d get a load of kids like ourselves and just stand there, middle of the road, holding hands and singing. I mean, who’s going to run down a bunch of harmless kids?

The lead tank hit Jimmy first.

Now that I'm retired I have more time to devote to writing my blog and creating short stories.

  1. Reminded me of that guy at Tiananmen Square standing in front of that tank. I think he probably most likely inevitably got killed too.

  2. Oof. That got me. Until the last line I was thinking of some kind of innocent, if dangerous, protest. Like their playground was being bulldozed. Great, hard-hitting punch line.

  3. Man, that’s harsh. Particularly because you know it happens in the real world. Like Silverleaf, I didn’t see the ending coming, which made it even more intense. Nicely done, Mike! 🙂
