Our New Cat

The Friday challenge from ‘Light & Shade’ contained the words pills and cat and that got my imagination going!

Our New Cat

“Something’s not right,” I said as Sammy writhed around on the floor.

“He’ll be fine,” said Billy, “Our cat does it all the time, won’t last.”

This all started when Sammy’s mum threatened to shave his head  because he’d got nits. Billy then told us about the pills their cat took to get rid of fleas. He felt sure they’d work on humans.

Finally the writhing stopped and Sammy sat up. As I bent down to check he was OK he rubbed his head against my leg, purring loudly.

What the hell were we going to tell his mum?

Now that I'm retired I have more time to devote to writing my blog and creating short stories.
