Don’t Tread On My Dreams

The challenge from Trifecta this weekend is to write a 33 word piece inspired by this quote from Paulo Coelho – “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”

Don’t Tread On My Dreams

“I had that dream again. About us.”

“I keep telling you Sam, there is no ‘us’.”

“We got married, had loads of kids.”

“In your dreams. It’s not going to happen.”

“We’ll see.”

  1. Quite puzzling.
    He’s married and so am I. 🙂
    They have two kids, but we unfortunately have none. 😦
    We have us,
    And why is there no us there.
    So what is Joe’s dream about?
    What do you know my response has been in 33 words !!!
    WELL DONE !!!!!!! 🙂

    1. Many thanks.
      The title comes from a poem by William Yeats – part of which goes thus:
      “But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
      I have spread my dreams under your feet;
      Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.”

I look forward to reading your comments
