visionGoodbye My Love

Her eye was just inches from my face. The tear, collecting in the corner, slowly slid down her pale cheeks. I wanted to reach out, hold her, tell her everything was going to be OK but I couldn’t.

“Goodbye my love,” she whispered, before turning and nodding to the figure in the corner of the room.

The gentle humming of the machine by the side of my bed, came to an abrupt end.
