‘New Born’ – 100 Word Story For ‘Friday Fictioneers’

I’m actually early, for a change, for this week’s Friday Fictioneers’. At first the photo prompt said nothing to me, then this popped into my head!

New Born

“Sir! I’ve found another one.”

“Thank God for that. Is it still closed?”

“Afraid not sir. I’d say this one’s been open for about an hour or so. The tide has washed most of the placenta away but there are still patches of it round the edges. There are also prints leading off towards those sand dunes. What now sir?”

“We need to find it Captain and fast. That thing will be growing by the minute and getting extremely hungry. Send a message to your men, Captain, they have orders to shoot to kill. Let’s pray we find it soon.”

  1. Thanks for popping over Jo-Anne.
Madison puts some great picture prompts up for Friday Fictioneers. I’m always amazed at how many different interpretations there can be of one picture each week.

I look forward to reading your comments
