100 Word Story – Visual Dare

Time for another Visual Dare courtesy of Angela Goff.

The rope was hooked up on the charred beam, exactly where he’d left it. After everything that had happened here he felt certain the locals would keep well clear of the place for weeks. That suited him just fine, it meant he could take his time, enjoy his work. In time they would find her, hanging there and assume the guilt had driven her to take her own life. The note he had stuffed in her pocket would satisfy even the most sceptical. She screamed as he slowly pulled down the rope, but there was no one to hear her.

    1. Thanks for your comments.
You’ve got me wondering what might have been in the note? Maybe that would make an interesting story in its own right.

I look forward to reading your comments
