‘Outside Pecos’ – A Short Story For Friday Fictioneers

Outside Pecos

You’re right Mr. Peterson our brochure does promise a smooth relocation package, I can only offer you our sincere apologies and assure you we are doing our best to rectify things. I quite understand Mr. Peterson, it must be frustrating standing at your beach side plot with no house in sight. The good news is that we’ve found  your old house. It was beamed up, early this morning, as arranged. Unfortunately our operative delivered it to the wrong location. At the moment it is standing in a remote area just outside Pecos, but rest assured Mr. Peterson, we will have it with you soon. Hello, hello …. Mr. Peterson, are you still there?

Another short story for ‘Friday Fictioneers’. Struggled to get down to 100 words – ended up with 115!

  1. I hope we live to see the time when relocation is synonymous with teleportation.
No moving trucks, no packing. Just beam up and find yourself at the new location.
Judging by your story, I wouldn’t want to rush into such an era, though.

Nice to see sci-fi has a place in this week’s stories.
A unique take on the prompt.

I look forward to reading your comments
