Here is my contribution to this week’s ‘Friday Fictioneers’ 100 Word Stories.
Another hour and the whole of this area would be fenced off. By nightfall, armed guard posts would be set up and everywhere made secure. There had only been one reported case of the virus but it had been enough for the authorities to quarantine the whole area. Tomorrow the robotic flame throwers would begin their intensive cleaning programme. Jimmy knew that if he was going to get out he would have to go now. He wasn’t to know that the virus had decided to come with him. His escape would be the beginning of the end of the world.
