Dreamers

An Etheree (ten line poem, line one, one syllable, line two, two syllables and so on) and then an inverted Etheree – for my contribution to this week’s Sunday Whirl.

This week’s wordle words were a real mixed punch – but where this poem came fro I’ve no idea!

Dreamers

our
latest
yearly edict
clearly states that
citizens on Earth
are permitted to dream
on alternate Saturdays,
when your thoughts may fly wherever –
but don’t push your luck, we won’t allow
your dreams to interfere with what we do.
YOU had trouble keeping your dreams in check,
playing the game by the laid down rules,
that’s why we saw you as a threat,
your sort want to change the world –
keep up, don’t lag behind,
your journey to the
Purple Planet
departs soon,
no dreams
there.
