Love Never Dies

A 100 word story using the prompt ‘bundle’ from Velvet Verbosity.

Love Never Dies

She looked at the neat bundle of love letters sitting in her lap, carefully held together by a faded blue ribbon. She remembered how he had loved to undo that ribbon, letting lose her long golden hair, as they kissed behind the school bike sheds. She smiled, wondering what he would make of it now, silvery grey and held together with ozone threatening sprays and a monthly perm. Did he still have the letters she’d sent him all those years ago? She wondered if he also regularly took them from their hiding place and dreamt off what might have been?
