Water Haiku

Haiku Heights – day 23 of the September challenge – today’s prompt – ‘Water’

the branches shiver
falling leaves hit the water –
Autumn has arrived

torrential downpour
laughter filled beach empties –
sandcastles crumble

standing on the bridge
swirling waters far below –
he jumps to forget

Now that I'm retired I have more time to devote to writing my blog and creating short stories.

  1. outstanding mood poems. great visuals, especially the second haiku. the last one strikes a chord, over here, in the headlines today, a mother and her young child drowned in a reservoir, probably by suicide. it’s sad.
